Have to admit, I have a soft spot in my heart for strong military types. Lieutenant Commander Evan Kane is a naval aviator who is simply extraordinary. Charismatic, extremely well educated, charming and witty, she is also stunningly attractive and knew how to tango. The author did a great job of making an impression/visual of Cmdr Kane early on. Tate McKenna is the love interest and correspondent for the Middle East News Bureau. The story after Cmdr Kane is shot down in Afghanistan on her final mission on her final tour is nothing short of unbelievable but oh so entertaining.Concerning the chemistry, I'm a bit of a broken record in my reviews and once again I understood the attraction, but not the substance of the relationship. Call me picky but I wish to understand both. That being said, the story had me. Very fast pacing, momentum, and continuity. Well worth crowding out other aspects of my life to continue reading. Really good!

I love all of Quinn's books. How she took the carefree, strong confident Evan Kane and put her through hell and have her overcome so much kept me engrossed.
I found this book intense and enjoyable as I have with all of this author's books. Her characters are so intriguing and interesting.

Evan and Tate are so in love that they face everything life throws at them TOGETHER. This is a many layered story well told. Well done MS Quinn.
I loved it from the first page to the last. I would like to see more of the same characters in more books. Would also like to see it narrated. The emotions and intrigue were so real. I would recommend it to anyone. Even though the main characters are lesbians, I think anyone would enjoy the story. Keeps you reading...
Love strong women protagonists. Every female in this story could carry a story on their own. The closure with the antagonist was quick, could of been drawn out more.
I liked the opening scene at the embassy party in this book, and I would have liked more of that type of thing. After that first part, there is really not much going on between the characters before a certain event happens that, along with the aftermath, takes up the majority of the book. Developing and expanding on the initial connection between the characters would have made this a better book.
